Dram Mor Benrinnes 2010 – 12 year old single malt whisky

Benrinnes sits peacefully on the lower slopes of Beinn Ruaidhneis in the heart of Speyside just a short trip from Dufftown.
Throughout its history Benrinnes has been known for producing spirits for blending, as such it has never been a notable brand in its own right. However, as Independent bottlers, they are able to show you just how good a dram Benrinnes really is. Signature Benrinnes showcases fresh dough, toffee chip biscuit and floral notes.
Dràm Mòr is an independent spirits bottler established in 2019 by husband and wife team Kenny and Viktorija Macdonald. The company started as an export agency for Scottish brands, but as demand for independent, high-quality spirits increased, we decided it was time to venture into the world of independent bottling. We provide bespoke single cask spirits to 14 countries worldwide and were delighted to grow the business portfolio to include a range of spirits along with carefully selected whiskies. Viktorija and Kenny both have backgrounds working for Whisky companies and are the co-founders of the Mòr Whisky Club held at Oran Mòr, Glasgow.
Tasting Notes
CASK TYPE: First Fill Bourboun Hogshead
BOTTLES: 330
COLOUR: Yellow dried sultana
NOSE: Almost a white wine nose with promises of chilled chardonnay. The gentle aroma is strengthened on second visit with mild tropical fruits and a hint of ripe banana and just a touch of menthol.
PALATE: Oh, that’s lovely. There is sweet fruitiness with the addition of an almond marzipan coating. This is Angel Cake in a glass but with a slightly more potent kick.
FINISH: That ‘feel good’ sponge cake flavour carries on through the finish. It’s like a treat from childhood but with the grown up joy of a great single malt.
