Vodka

Eight LandsEight LandsOn a clear day, from the top of the Ben Rinnes mountain, you can survey the eight counties that surround us. Eight Lands organic vodka and gin are carefully distilled in the Glenrinnes Distillery at the foot of this mountain. We do things properly at Glenrinnes Distillery. We invest an extraordinary amount of time and effort into making our spirits because we believe it comes through in the taste. We do not pretend to have a history or provenance that is untrue. We are transparent. We can point to our water source and trace the ingredients from every bottle of our spirits. Our distillery is open to anyone that wants learn about how we make Eight Lands. We really wanted something that evoked the Scottish landscape and suggests a cold and refreshing serve. The water used in making our spirits is one of the purest in the world and emerges from natural in springs in the Cairngorms national park where I’ve spent many days in blizzard conditions roaming the hills and looking forward to a G&T after a hard day’s walking. It spends around 50 years being gently filtered through the layers of underground rocks and crevices, collecting its unique properties. The colour schemes and logo worked amazingly well together to create some strong branding, with a little Scottish twist on the wording, we arrived at Snawstorm! Branding as clean and crisp as the spirit itself. We started as a vodka producer using what’s known as ‘new-make’ spirit from one of the local whisky distilleries which we use as a key ingredient to make our fantastic award-winning vodka and soon realised the flavour profile of our vodka had great potential to be used as a base spirit for gin. Our key botanicals are dried Spanish oranges, fresh lime peel and Scots pine needles. The pine needles really work to compliment the juniper and are locally foraged. The finished product is a juniper forward gin with a fresh citrus zing followed by a subtle, smooth earthy dryness coming from the cubebs, cassia bark and almonds. Our suggested serve is with premium tonic and a slice of lemon or swap the lemon for a couple of raspberries for an equally refreshing alternative. There is 1 product in this category.
